Inside the First Netflix House: VR, Mini-Golf, and Bridgerton Selfies! (2025)

Get ready, Netflix fans! The streaming giant is stepping out of your living room and into the real world with its first-ever 'Netflix House' – a bold move that's shaking up the entertainment landscape. But is this the future of how we experience our favorite shows and movies? Let's dive in.

This isn't your average house; it's a former department store transformed into an immersive playground located in the King of Prussia Mall, just outside Philadelphia, PA. Inside, you'll find a mini-golf course, restaurants, a movie theater, and, of course, plenty of selfie opportunities. Imagine posing on a 'Bridgerton'-inspired red velvet throne or lounging on an afghan-covered couch straight out of 'Stranger Things.'

"This is the first permanent physical manifestation of Netflix for our fans," explains Marian Lee, the company's chief marketing officer. It's a way to give back to the fans who have welcomed Netflix into their homes for years. But here's where it gets interesting: Netflix House isn't just about movie theaters; it's about immersive experiences. The first location features a spooky multimedia experience based on the show 'Wednesday'.

And this is the part most people miss: The second Netflix House, opening in Dallas, Texas, in December, won't even have a screen! Instead, it will feature a 'Squid Game' virtual immersive experience.

"What they're trying to do is blur the lines between their content, your home experience, your small screen experience, and an interactive, fully immersive, tactile, in-person experience," says Paul Dergarabedian, head of marketplace trends for Comscore. It's a clever way for fans to market the shows to each other through social media. This move follows dozens of pop-up experiments in 350 cities worldwide, giving Netflix valuable insights into what fans in different regions enjoy.

But here's a controversial question: Will people see this as worth the expense? While it's free to enter and explore, the real cost comes with the multimedia experiences, immersive VR games, and mini-golf. A third location is already planned for Las Vegas, with the ultimate goal of having a Netflix House in every major city worldwide.
